Soulful Shekhar! (my interview with Shekhar Ravjiani)

The first time I saw Shekhar. At a coffee shop in Bandra, waiting for his cup of coffee, watching the rain, and loving every bit of his time alone, while he stays connected with his people , busy on his mobile. A man with so much poise, you wouldn't want to disturb his world.

Talk of someone who is effortless when it comes to reaching out, and creating a mark. Reserved, calm ,yet mysterious. He makes Bollywood sound good, has ventured into making other languages sound good as well.

A man of thoughts, and someone who doesn't come with a heavy load of all that self love ,but more love for his work, and the people in his life.

Soulful
This time it is..Shekhar Ravjiani! (breathes music.lives music)

1) If I say instrumental music can still mean a few words. What would yours convey?

For me there is only one kind of music.Music that's from the heart.Honest and real

2) Love makes the world a better place.Your personal experience?

Love like music, is one language everyone understands. In my experience, there's no substitute for the power of love when it comes to dealing with every type of relationship in our lives.

3) Your Marathi single 'Saavli' even though a language alien to many, was well appreciated by a lot of people from different states. What's your 'connect' mantra?

Music is the most universally understood language. And when people can feel the emotion behind a song, it doesn't matter whether they understand the lyrics or not.Make a piece of music with love and it will connect with anyone.Thats my mantra

4) Have you ever had a memorable moment,a life changing experience that changed the course of things for you?

Memorable many.Life changing many.Nothing changes the course of things for me.I go with the flow and leave it to destiny.

5)In 'Saazni' your video, I saw someone who loves to travel, loves places.Would you do a similar video for another state, hmm...Kerala?(smiles)

I am always looking for new challenges and adventures.I'd absolutely love to do something for Kerala which happens to be one of my favourite places in India.

6) Your industry friends are very fond you and your work.Like Shahrukh Khan, and the others. But is the field lonely? .Do you miss genuine contacts?
Saavli moments....
I've been very fortunate to work with a few good people in the business. If you are positive, everything around looks positive ;-)

7) You see a lot of young kids on Indian Idol Junior as a judge, how has this journey been with India's future musicians? :)

Being a judge on this show has been an overwhelming experience and its been my good fortune to be able to witness and mentor the future of tomorrow. Which looks extremely promising.

8) What's the best way to market good work, and your take on bad work that still works?

Again.Stay honest and real and the work markets itself. No one does bad work intentionally. It's always gauged by the audience.

9) Shekhar on a day off. Shekhar ,the person ?

Just another guy who likes to spend the day off with the people he loves..family,friends..they're ultimately the ones who make me who I am.

10) Any regrets, Shekhar?

Life's a gift. and you've just got to make the most of it.There should be no room for regret.

On that note! Those of you who haven't listened to his Marathi single yet. Please do listen to Saazni and Saavli. Saavli is Shekhar's recent Marathi single, and the proceeds go to 'Ma Niketan' , for the education of  girl children.Noble cause.Great going Shekhar!

Beautiful listening to you speak your mind. Thanks a ton for taking time out for something so candid Shekhar.

Wish you all the very best. More souls to win. More power to music.
:)

Blog Stalking Ayushmann!!!! -interview with Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana.Didn't his smile just make your day?

I wonder how this happened. But it finally did,on a beautiful Sunday when he agreed for this feature about him for my readers who love him.I wanted to start off 'Blog Stalking' with a celebrity I personally believe in,a star who has it all,and certainly someone who you can relate to as a person who is your face, and also one who occupies a space in your dream of a perfect man,if there is a concept like that.Ayushmann Khurrana's journey so far has been exceptional. From being a VJ,to the actor, singer, and also the writer in him that I so totally adore. There's so much that I wanted to explore, and know from this humble ,honest heart throb, that it was hard to choose the right set of questions that would cover it all,but I wanted it to be few,to avoid wasting his time, and yet be raw and relevant.

Let's talk of a person who believes beyond the superficial, and enjoys life like any other  man, even in the shoes of India's most desirable men.

My Blog interview with Ayushmann Khurrana

 1) That something that makes your heart skip a beat?

Any piece of genuine art. Be it painting, music or a film. I think a person's artistic expression makes my heart skip a beat.

    2)
Most romantic moment?
Inside a cottage in the jungles at the tri junction of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka with candles. Year 2011 with Tahira.

3)
Love the lover boy image, or would like an image makeover?
I will always be a lover boy. I'm a sucker for love.

4)
Most beautiful woman, is ? (in 5 words)
The one who's beautiful and doesn't know about it.

5)
The actor who sings, and writes as well. Acquired talent, or a natural at it?
A bit of both. Evolution is the only constant, and I want to evolve everyday.

That adorable munchkin who can EMOTE

6)
How important are looks to attract you?

Only for the initial attention. Later, it's you within.

7)
Success. Expected ?

Success is important, but contentment is more important, as success is relative. Happiness is the apt barometer of success. Ambition is redundant, you just have to be good at what you do.

8)
You’re a very passionate writer. Book anytime?

Would love to write a book if my life story permits and draws a legendary course, but before that would love to write a script.

9)
Favourite romantic destination?

A person makes a place romantic, though weather also plays a key role.
I'm happy with the cool breeze on the terrace in pyjamas.
This setting can be achieved in any place of the world.

10)

According to you, an actor like no other?

Amitabh Bachchan is the only actor of Indian cinema who has consistently evolved with time. His contemporaries have already hung their boots. He's the Sachin Tendulkar of Indian cinema.

It was a sweet nervous sorta breakdown as I tried to juggle between words and thoughts,  to be upfront and personal, and a wee bit tension about how to frame it right and not sound cheesy and silly.I hope my effort made you smile. That was the simple thought.

Ayushmann, thank you so much for beind so humble and sweet.Happy high like a school girl to talk about you,and would really wish that you go out there, and write that book soon.As you take that cake walk as an actor, singer, and writer, with all the effort, passion and dedication. My blog readers and I wish you the very best.

We love you! and thanks for keeping us entertained and loving us back :)

Wayyy..To..Goo.. Boy! :)

Love over coffee

Thanks Mama for the super cuppa coffee, and Acha for the chocolates :)
Led to this...my labour of love,a little story..

Love,
Kaveri

She sat at the table,in her favourite corner.Connected her laptop and resumed her regular work. She had to finish those chapters on love and lust, she had to write about how the lady would react when her man would kiss her from behind. Each time her character would be at war with her to complete the sentence,to dance in the romance of the momentary pleasures of love, but her mind would deny such a predictable muse, until she finally minimizes the screen an.She'd then sit and worry about not finishing her work on time, for her regular cheese loving group of readers. Her mind would wander and her eyes would look places until it falls on the cup of capuccino. She'd turn off her laptop ,and take a few sips from her cup.Her favourite choco cookies would keep her company until she finally gets into the mood of writing again.

Life has not been the same for Aanya ever since she loved and lost in loveBut she firmly believed that you don't lose what you don't own.Possession isn't love.Writing e-books on romance, love and lust brought her money for her skills, but not the inner peace that money could never buy.She wore the best of clothes, roamed around with fun social groups, tied up with big publishing houses, and was the modern woman, with absolutely no complaints and issues.

Her inner demons would try to coax her into weakness, bribe her into self pity and stop her from thinking the thoughts of the lovers who'd wait for her short stories. But her soul would step aside as a nascent lover, and sit beside her writer's draft and narrate incidents of pure, passionate, lustful love ,like a person who just experienced it all on her own.

Aanya did not know whether there was a story, whether he was the prince, who was supposed to kiss her good morning, kiss her all day,and kiss her good night, until its morning again. Her warm shell of imagination never let her feel what's cold, she did not know when he was upset, did not know when there was distance, but she did see what didn't exist, loved the person who was a shadow to her imagination of perfection.

Like the aroma of coffee, his shadow stayed, his smell lingered. She wished to be in his arms, to complete her picture perfect frame of a love story, but his denial was clear, she never even tried.Because she knew that she wanted the aroma to linger,so that she would remember him over each sip of coffee.

Aaanya wrote best sellers, nothing of which had anything to do with what it takes to write from the heart. Her lovable ,flirtatious ,fictious characters and their stories were sold like hot cakes, but when someone'd tell her "I read your book,I loved Anvita's character, wish i could be like her" ,she would feel like a patient suffering from Amnesia trying to recollect, who was Anvita, and what made her so lovable.

She continued writing, and finally she wrote her heart out on a little notepad, unlike her laptop ficiton."I don't remember the last incident in my novel that got over a 1000 likes on facebook,i don't understand my book quotes that they share,i still don't relate to the characters others love.I just know, your smell lingers like the aroma of coffee, and I'll keep writing"

The lord of tennis, Roger that!

Lord of Tennis, Roger that!

It was quite disappointing for tennis fans across the globe to see a historic loss in Wimbledon today. It was not just surprising, but also unexpected and heart breaking to see the man of steel on the court , Rafa lose his straight sets ,and thereby bid good bye to Wimbledon this year.
A real Federer loyalist wouldn’t celebrate this loss, since the grass prince and his followers love the clay master v/s Grass lord face offs. In fact, for a true Federer diehard fan, even the clay master isn’t competition for someone who is considered nothing less than world class.

Roger Federer, the gentleman who is more than poetry in action, completes 10 years  in Wimbledon. With a record 17 grand slams to his credit, there isn’t anything that Fedex needs to prove, or achieve in his life.

The highly emotional person that he is, is a man with a brain of ice on court, who hardly takes any stress, makes noises or loses his cool for any reason, whatsoever. He is the man who beat Pete Sampras’s record and is the same man who would still weep like a baby when he wins, and kiss his trophy like it’s his first grand slam ever.

From a person who plays tennis, to a person who breathes tennis, to tennis himself, his journey has been incomparable.
He’s not just a great player, but carries a personality that is an easy fit for any high end brand. Because eventually they all harp on just one word ‘class’ and the two letters RF is good enough to pass the simple yet royal message of being genuine yet classy.

I simply Own him, in thoughts, in words. In a manner that just the heart can comprehend..Because…He’s Federer. Roger that ! : )

Ps: Oh! That bandana and sweat band, n the mighty half R n F makes my heart skip a beat, every single time ! Love you RF !

Happy Wimble-DON –ing ! : )

You go da Dhanush! :)

He may not be tinsel town's most good looking bachelor,or you can call him the worst looking guy.
He may not look like your doll type hero, but if that's what your concept of an actor is,then no arguments. Please don't read ahead.

It is highly disgraceful and shocking, the way many people have reacte
d to Dhanush's bollywood flick.Just because he is a south indian, and he comes with a star kid image, for being Rajnikanth's son in law, that doesn't make him a loser,or any less in comparison to the other star kids, who have even disappeared into oblivion.
Self made are the words for him.

Also ,please get your facts right..
People knew Dhanush even before being Thalaiva's star son in law,he's known for his acting, and acting isn't about a doll face. Siddharth Malhotra is oh sooo gorgeous! Sorry if that was mean. But need I say anything more?
Rajnikanth's stardom will remain untouched for the kind of public support and love he has garnered with his own effort,no star has the kind of stardom he has pan india and across the world..

You can sit back and crib about a young boy, because all your ignorant minds have heard of  is 'Kolaveri'.If that did not make any great sense as you call it,then I believe "Dishkaaoo dum dum" and " Paa paa paoos" also never made sense. If that is the case, does bollywood make sense at all?.But people love being entertained, and that isn't a problem,

Try watching his movies. You may not believe in national awards because you never get to see one in your vicinity, but for those who love art and appreciate art,it is a big deal. Dhanush has one to his credit.

He doesn't claim to be a super star and the roles he takes up suits the kind of image he carries. He may not suit a specific genre of Bollywood cinema, but if the director chose him for the role, that means he is someone that bollywood can learn from.I hear the box office collections of Raanjhna has been good, but to be very honest I really don't care about the collections, because I loved the movie.

Acting like a retard,or a loser in love,or an average boy isn't as easy as acting like the lover boy who conquers hearts.
But even with this style of acting,Dhanush has done a commendable job.

All I have to say is.
.Dhanush! take a bow!
You GO! da !!!   : )

Hail Dale !

I've been away from frequent blogging for long now.It can be because of two reasons. One,because I dont have the time for it ever since I moved to Mumbai for PG in Media, and the second reason which most certainly is the real reason ,too much of chilling happened in 1 year,I spent more time going and getting things done, meeting new people, making great friends,so I was enjoying life and had no time to write about it.When you're there and at it,why share? is a very silly thought, but at times you get so engrossed in things and it literally tires you out that you then don't have the time and energy to write about it,eventhough fb's 'whats on your mind' and tweets are a relief when you're stuck in the midst of madness, and want to share something. But they say some things should never remain unsaid, and I feel some things should be written about. I grew up watching cricket with my dad and was never enamoured by any specific cricketer and neither had the belief that any player can be God.Any day I prefer tennis over cricket and Federer over any other famous cricketer. When I look back and look at myself now.I'm flattered, floored, literally 'stained' by Dale Steyn.I started observing him closely for sometime now,and I don't know how great my knowledge about cricket is,but I just know that he makes me wonder, keeps me glued to the screen, everytime he's on the field. When I was introduced to cricket as a game,I remember kids fighting for the bat.Every kid wanted to be a batsman ,but I feel its all in the bowler's hands. You can call me biased, and thats how much I'm influenced by the talent of a man,who has proven himself beyond Class is such that,it doesn't fall under any particular format.A classy player can give his unique style to any format of the game. When Dale bowls, you just feel he's ruling already, whether he takes wickets is secondary. When he takes wickets, its like a piece of cake for him,and an everyday story for us. The day Dale Steyn retweeted one of my thoughts on twitter,I actually felt like I had a sensible conversation with a star.A simple retweet made me feel like we sat over a cup of coffee and spoke about the good things in life. He he! I can finally say I am a fan. ps : I love Dale !
